A socio-politcal commentary of migration narratives in a mixed media animated short film.
WE ARE the immigrants
Ausstellung – Kunstmuseum
My bachelor project is a multi-faceted exploration of immigration through an experimental animated short film, brought to life in an immersive video installation displayed across three screens.
This unique setup creates an engaging and dynamic visual experience, allowing viewers to be fully enveloped in the narrative of migration, identity, and resilience. Complementing the film are a series of posters integrated with Augmented Reality (AR) applications, which offer an interactive layer to the storytelling. By scanning the posters with their devices, viewers can unlock additional content, bringing the themes of the film into the real world and extending the conversation beyond the screen.
Additionally, an informative website serves as a hub for the project, providing background information, behind-the-scenes insights, and resources that deepen the audience's understanding of the complexities of immigration. This digital platform also acts as a space for continued engagement, inviting visitors to explore the themes at their own pace. The main goal of this project is to foster empathy and dialogue around the immigrant experience, challenging viewers to see beyond borders and embrace the shared human journey of seeking a place to belong. By blending art, technology, and storytelling, this project aims to spark meaningful conversations and inspire a greater sense of connection and understanding in a divided world.
