Perspective Shift
Ausstellung – Altes Theater
This thesis explores the current state of visual political communication in Germany, focusing on the analysis of election campaign posters from the 2021 federal election.
The research aims to create a visual representation of political communication, enabling users to engage with it in a tangible manner, through the development of an interactive installation that combines immersive media techniques with traditional election campaign posters. The study examines the theoretical context of visual political communication, the role of election campaign posters, and the methods employed by political actors to communicate their goals and messages.
The analysis reveals a prevalence of personalization, vague messaging, and negative messaging in contemporary political communication, highlighting the need for innovative approaches to facilitate re-engagement with political issues among individuals. The thesis contributes to the understanding of the dynamics of political communication and the potential of interactive installations to enhance comprehension of abstract concepts.
